Cancellations

Teacher Cancellations

In the event the teacher has to cancel a class, the teacher will have two options:

  1. reschedule the class (during the normal year or after the session ends), or

  2. arrange for a substitute teacher to teach the class

*Please note that dancers will receive a minimum of 30 classes per year, including rehearsals and dress rehearsals for the year-end show. Classes may not be rescheduled if this total number has been met.

Student Cancellations

If a student cancels or is a “no show” repeatedly, the teacher may remove the student from the class with no refund.

Late Students

If a student is more than 10 minutes late (without notice), they may be asked to wait and join the class at an appropriate time. If the student is repeatedly late for class, the teacher may remove the student from the class performance in the year-end show.

Inclement Weather

In the case of inclement weather and snow days, classes at the studio will proceed at the discretion of the studio.

If the studio closes due to inclement weather, classes will be rescheduled (during the normal year or during June), to a maximum of two rescheduled classes per year, if the total of 30 classes per year has not been fulfilled.

Please check Omnes Arts Circle’s Facebook or Instagram page to see if classes and lessons have been cancelled, or email info@omnesartscircle.ca for confirmation. Students and parents are encouraged to use their own discretion in travelling to the studio in inclement weather.

Discontinuation

Full refunds will be given to new students only, who withdraw within two weeks from the beginning of classes. No refunds will be given beyond this.

The teacher reserves the right to discontinue classes with a student if:

  • a student misses six or more classes during the year, or

  • a student misses three consecutive classes without notice or proof of medical reason, or

  • a student is repeatedly late or misses class without notifying the studio

Uniform and Costumes

The student is responsible for purchasing the appropriate attire for class, and is responsible for purchasing the assigned costume for the year-end show. All efforts will be made by the teacher and studio to keep costs to a minimum wherever possible, and fundraisers will be available for those interested. Please budget up to $150 + HST per class for costumes (comp classes should budget up to $180 + HST per class for costumes).

ALL dance attire MUST be purchased through the studio or an approved retailer. Please see our Dress Code for more information.

Further information will be provided for the year-end show costumes.

Performances

All students are invited to participate in the year-end show, subject to attendance being in good standing. While choreography will be taught during class time, additional classes and rehearsals are necessary closer to show time. Show dates and additional rehearsal dates are listed on our website in September. Attendance at all rehearsals are mandatory for participation in the show. Tickets for the dance show are $25 (children ages 3 and under do not need a ticket if they sit on a parent/guardian’s lap for the entire performance).

Studio Photos

All students are invited to purchase individual and group photos if desired. Attendance to Photo Day is mandatory for group photos, but the purchase of photos is not mandatory. Photos can be purchased directly through our photographer.
