Fun Fact: Omnes means “All”

It’s a Latin word that has a lot of meaning to us here at the studio, and this choir is where our business name first began!

So, everyone is welcome. Everyone belongs. Everyone is community.

FAQ Time:

We’re getting some good questions about our Omnes Youth Choir, and we’ve got your answers! Below is a list of common questions:
1. What kind of music will be included in the Youth Choir?
All types and styles – pop, world music, folk, classical. Exposure to new styles and enhancing music appreciation will be a mandate of ours.
2. What will a typical rehearsal look like?
Rehearsals take a comprehensive musicianship approach – meaning that all elements and aspects of learning the music will be focused on: reading music, voice production and technique, style and interpretation, history (if applicable), composer/arranger backgrounds. This will ensure that each member of the choir has a thorough understanding of the music they are performing, beyond simply singing the correct notes. There will be a vocal/physical warmup at the beginning of each rehearsal, some team building activities, full group singing, some sectional work, and of course – social time/break!
3. Does someone need experience?
Absolutely no experience needed! The beauty of having qualified instructors there is that we can meet everyone where they are in terms of skill. The reason we’ve decided on larger age groupings is so that everyone can learn from each other, so varying levels of experience and skill will only add to our vision!
4. What kind of performances will you do?
We have two concerts booked – a Christmas concert in December, and a spring concert in May. While these are our only “official” performances for the year, we also look forward to some other fun performance opportunities as well!

FAQ Time:

1. Do parents need to stay while their child is in class?

Nope! Take advantage of the kid-free time to get some errands done, go for a walk, or take a nap! We have contact information on file, so if you’re needed for anything, we’ll give you a call!

2. Does my child need any materials for class?

We will have everything your child needs, both for classes and performances! Some classes will be in bare feet, while some will be in sock feet (no shoes in the dance studios), and bringing a water bottle is always encouraged!

3. My child is almost 6, would he be a good fit?

Let’s chat to see! We’ve had 6 yr olds in our classes before, and they’ve loved it! While we gear the classes towards 3-5 yr olds, it’s only a guideline 🙂

4. Will there be a performance for Musicplay?

Yes! Our Musicplay class will be invited to perform in our Christmas Concert in December, and our Spring Concert in May.
